Research Interests:

I. The Dental Biothermomechanical Properties And Neurological Mechanisms Involved In Toothache Starting from an engineering perspective, we aim to re-cast the biological behaviour of tooth in engineering systems parlance. Then by coupling the concepts of engineering with the established methods in neuroscience, we attempt to establish a holistic mathematical model for quantifying tooth thermal pain. The model takes into account tooth morphological plausibility, the biothermomechanical response of tooth, and the biophysical and neurological mechanisms of pain sensation.
II. The Alteration In Propriception Patterns From Masster To Trigeminal System Associated With Malocclusion And Orthodontal Treatment .
III. The Central Mechanisms Involved In Bruxism.
IV. The Differentiation And Proliferation Of Mesenchymal Stem Cells Derived From Human Umbilical Cordblood.
V. The Mechanism Involved In Muscle Atrophy Induced By Simulated Weightlessness Obvious amyotrophy in intrafusal muscle fibers and extrafusal muscle fibers in soleus muscle of tail-suspended female SD rats had been observed in the research, and the alterations of muscle spindles anticipated the changes of extrafusal muscle fibers. the measure increasing afferent impulse of muscle spindles could prevent or slow down the development of muscle atrophy, such as high frequency sinusoidal vibration and traditional Chinese medicine. So we presume that the initiating agent which leaded to amyotrophy under simulated weightlessness is the decrease of propriceptive afferent impulse of muscle spindles, which could influence ?? and ?ímotor neurons in anterior horn of spinalcord and some areas or nucleus in the brain. The mutual effects from different levels (periphery, spinalcord and brain) contribute to the muscular atrophy under simulated weightlessness.
